INTRODUCTION
Congratulations! You have bought a wonderful telescope. This is a precision optical instrument, and you have many wonderful evenings of observing the night sky ahead of you. This on-line guide is to help you assemble your telescope properly.
Of course, the telescope comes with an assembly guide, and we were able to assemble our telescope less than 20 minutes using that guide.
However, we know that many people are visually oriented and that pictures of the assembly process would be helpful. Since your telescope assembly guide and instruction manual does not have a lot of pictures, we at have put together this online guide to help you assembe your telescope for your first night of observing. Please Note: the paper assembly guide refers to a "Barlow" lens that can be used to increase the magnification of this telescope. However, as indicated in the item description, there is no Barlow lens included with your telescope.
Once your telescope is assembled and ready to go, the rest is up to you. Learning astronomy is all the fun anyhow! So let's get started . . .
ASSEMBLING THE TRIPOD
Putting the tripod together is a snap!
- Step 1: Remove the tripod from the box, and extend the legs as shown in Figure 1 below.
Figure 1 - Extending the tripod legs.
- Step 2: Be sure to secure the tripod by pressing down on the center bracket until it locks in place as shown in Figure 2 below.

ATTACHING THE MAIN TELESCOPE TUBE
- Step 3: Remove the tube securing screw from the main telescope tube as shown in Figure 3.
Figure 3 - Removing the telescope tube securing screw.
- Step 4: Notice that the tripod mount head is angled. As shown in Figure 4 below, the "big" end of the telescope goes on the left, and the "little end" (the side you look through), goes on the right. (see also, Figure 5)

- Step 5: Attach the main telescope tube to the mount as shown below.

- Step 6: Tighten the securing screw with the nut, make sure that it is good and tight, but not too tight. You will need to loosen the screw in order to adjust the telescope up and down.

ATTACHING THE FINDER SCOPE & EYEPIECES
Believe it or not, you will be finished in just a few minutes. The rest of the assembly is very easy.
- Step 7: Remove the finder scope nuts from the main tube.
Figure 7 - Removing the finder scope nuts.
- Step 8: Attach the finder scope - the skinny side goes toward the back of the telescope! You can adjust the finder scope by using the adjustment screws on the finder scope bracket to align the scope. Do this after you are completely finished assembling the telescope.

- Step 9: Insert the angle prism as shown below. Tighten it in place using the small set screw on the side of the main focusing tube.
Figure 9 - Inserting the angle prism.
- Step 10: Now you can insert an eyepiece right into the angle prism, and hold it in place with the set screw. To switch eyepieces, just loosen the set screw and switch to the other eyepiece.

- Step 11 Smile! You did it. Now go enjoy your telescope. You probably will want to align the sighting scope during the daytime because it is easier. You should do this outside and point the telescope at something at least 50 yards away.

Thanks again for your business. We hope you enjoy your new telescope!
